It’s official: Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins, the human equivalent of throwing up a shaka, is going to be the rose-dealer in the next season of The Bachelor.
Rumours that he would be the man of the mansion started gaining some credence after highly respected journalistic institutions Woman’s day and the Daily Telegraph republished them over the weekend, and it turns out they were absolutely bang-on, with Ten confirming it this evening.
Cummins is a prominent Union player whose life now mainly seems to consist of being the face (and body) of Tradie underwear and just generally being a loose unit.
In a press release, Ten lavished him with praise:
Physically striking, successful and smart, the sporting talent of this wild-haired winger, Nick’s wicked sense of humour and his distinctive, witty one-liners have made him a hero, both on and off the field.
The man is, in all senses of the word, a character, so I imagine it’ll be pretty interesting to see how he goes romancing a series of women under scrutiny, but I reckon by far the most entertaining part of this will be how often it will require him to wear a suit.
