Nic Cage Reckons His New Movie Is The Most Bonkers One He’s Ever Made

If Nic Cage tells you that something is insane, chances are it’s far beyond anything your own fatigue-addled brains could ever cook up.

So when Nic Cage tells you that the movie he is currently working on is, and we quote, “the wildest movie I’ve ever made,” you might want to consider lining up at the theatre now.

Cage recently gave a masterclass at an International Film Festival in Macau (good lord, what a life), and gave a little insight into his upcoming film, the incredibly-titled Prisoners of the Ghostland, which is the English language debut of the supremely demented Japanese director Sion Sono, which should have more than a few nerds among you practically frothing with glee.

But this movie… oh boy. Oh boy.

It’s probably best if we let Cage’s words themselves do the talking.

At the masterclass, Cage – speaking about a movie called Prisoners of the Ghostland – said the following words:

I’m thrilled about it! It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read before. It might be the wildest movie I’ve ever made, and that’s saying something. It’s out there. I wear a skintight black leather jumpsuit with grenades attached to different body parts, and if I don’t rescue the governor’s daughter from this state line where they’re all ghosts and bring her back they’re gonna blow me up. It’s just crazy. It’s way out there.

Let’s just… take stock of that, for a bit.

In Prisoners of the Ghostland, will be playing a man in a tight black leather jumpsuit which features strategically-placed hand grenades, fighting to rescue a Governor’s daughter from a resistance line of menacing ethereal spirits who are holding her captive, and if he doesn’t achieve this, the Governor’s people will explode him.

So… like… Nic Cage is the nega-version of Eddie Murphy’s Raw jumpsuit with grenade balls who has to bash ghosts to save a girl.

Givvus.

Givvus it now.

Prisoners of the Ghostland isn’t scheduled to begin filming until mid-next year, but our froth levels are already at maximum.
