ATTN: The Show Everyone’s Calling “The New OC” Is Coming To Netflix V. Soon

It has been *far* too long between Tijuana exploits with the likes of Marissa Cooper and Ryan Atwood: 10 years, to be exact.

But something’s finally come along to help fill The OC-shaped hole in your life and – if you thought that series was juicy – hoooooo boy, you’re in for a treat.

Dynasty, the 1980s US soap your Mum probably loved, has been given a serious makeover by melodrama maestro Josh Schwartz (creator of both The OC and Gossip Girl, so you know it’s gonna be good), and is headed to Netflix next bloody month.

In the most classic of plotlines, it follows two of America‘s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they fight for control of their respective empires.

Entitled byotch Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies) is poised to take up the role of COO at her father’s global energy empire when she and brother Steven (James Mackay) learnDaddy Dearest (Grant Show) is suddenly engaged to a very young, very shady company employee named Cristal (Nathalie Kelley).

Horrified at the prospect of relinquishing their family’s power to an outsider, Fallon and Steven immediately set about ruining their engagement via every cunning trick in the book – until it all blows up in their privileged faces.

From the looks of the trailer, this show has it all: palatial mansions. Forbidden relationships. Devious plots. Backstabbing. Surprise weddings. Sex with the hired help. Designer clothes.

Have a watch, then tell us if it doesn’t give you serious OC-vibes.

The first episode will hit Netflix on 12 October, with new episodes arriving every Thursday after that.

Sign us the fuck up.
