What’s that? You thought that the good people at Netflix wouldn’t find a way to get in on some of that sweet, sweet royal wedding action? Well think again, because the streaming service has today announced a wedding-themed sequel to its so-bad-it-was-actually-amazing A Christmas Prince!
A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding – gotta love that highly-descriptive title – arrives later this year. We don’t know exactly when (around Christmas, you would have to presume) but Netflix went ahead and dropped a trailer this morning to coincide with Meghan and Harry‘s big day.
Per the plot synopsis:
The sequel will pick up a year after Amber helped Richard secure the crown. The two are set to tie the knot in a royal Christmas wedding – but their plans are jeopardized when Amber finds herself second-guessing whether or not she’s cut out to be queen, and Richard is faced with a political crisis that threatens to tarnish not only the holiday season but the future of the kingdom.
Given that dashing prince Richard is now King of Aldovia, I feel like this sequel should actually be called A Christmas King, but whatever, I guess it would be unreasonable to demand that sort of rigorous attention to detail from the Christmas Prince cinematic universe anyway.

The film stars Rose McIver (iZombie) and Ben Lamb (Divergent) and we are 100% on board.
