Natalie Portman Takes No Bullshit As The Ultimate Pop Star In ‘Vox Lux’ Trailer

Vox Lux

A bloody refreshing break from the handful of reboots being announced left, right, and centre is Vox Lux starring Academy Award Winner Natalie Portman and Jude Law.

Vox Lux begins in 1999 when teenage sisters Celeste (Raffey Cassidy) and Eleanor survive a violent tragedy. Together, the sisters write a song about their experience and reach for the stars under the guidance of their talent manager, played by Law. The second half of the film then brings us to 2017 when 31-year-old Celeste (Portman), the star of the duo, is now a mother to a teenager and struggling to navigate a career full of scandal while Eleanor (Stacy Martin) acts as both an emotional and creative support.

Actor and filmmaker Brady Corbet directed and wrote the screenplay for the film. Oh, and our very own and spectacularly talented Sia features on the official soundtrack with a couple of original songs.

Since the film’s debut at the 75th Venice International Film Festival back in September, it’s been raking in the good reviews. Currently, Vox Lux holds a 90 per cent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes out of 39 ratings – 35 fresh and four rotten. 97 per cent of users are keen to see the movie.

Portman shared this stunning photo to her Instagram after Venice and in this particular picture, the film looks like Black Swan but with more glitter.

All the usual suspects froth the film including The Hollywood Reporter, Indiewire, and Variety.
