The excellent news was made via a video announcement titled “The Story Continues”. If you’ve binged your way through season one then you’ll know things are about to get real bloody.

However, if you’ve yet to get around the show then Narcos: Mexico takes us to the birth of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1980s, headed by the almighty drug lord Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo. Said drug lord – through the power of persuasion and promises of a shitload of money – rounds up a bunch of leading drug leaders and convinces them to work together, forming an almost unstoppable empire.

For his efforts, Gallardo was nicknamed the El Padrino (Godfather) of Mexico.

Enter stubborn as hell DEA agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena who moves with his family to Mexico to take down Gallardo.

Diego Luna, who you may know for his role in Rogue One, absolutely crushes it as Gallardo alongside Michael Peña as Camarena.

Tenoch Huerta, Joaquin Cosio, José María Yazpik, Alyssa Diaz, and Matt Letscher co-star.

As the video shows, season one has done quite well with the ~critics~ with an overall 84 per cent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This comes from a total of 31 reviews – 26 fresh, five rotten.
