Against all the odds, Rick And Morty has kicked up a genuinely wholesome piece of content: a short video featuring our good yellow-headed friend, Mr. Poopybutthole.
A new web short from Adult Swim kicks off right at the end of Season 3. Mr. Poopybutthole reaffirms his place as a quasi-narrator of the Rick And Morty multiverse by turning off the telly and opening up his family scrapbook, flipping through key moments of his bizarre life that Season 3 missed.
Viewers are treated to images of his childhood, where he met high school sweetheart Mrs. Poopybutthole; a holiday to the Cronenberg’d universe Rick and Morty abandoned; and the couple’s traditional Jewish wedding. L’chaim!
The clip features some neat references to the broader Rick And Morty canon – keep an eye out for Jaguar, and a stuffed plumbus – but somehow still makes no reference to how he actually met Rick.
Also, the cane visible in the high school scenes suggests Mr. Poopybutthole was only a child at the time Beth shot him. What the fuck, Beth.
We guess we’ll find out more when, or if, Rick And Morty returns for a fourth season:
