The big chill has officially hit and punters are opting for indoor gathos instead of nights out on the town, which is a wise move IMHO.

So the next time you have your gal pals over for a glass of vino and a slice or 15 of brie, amp up the occasion by binge-watching the A+ movies on local streaming giant Stan.

We know what it’s like when you get together with your mates: hours of endless scrolling and bickering over which movie to stream, usually resulting in nothing being watched but a blank screen.

Never you mind pals, we’ve sorted you out with some primo flick picks so you don’t need to end the friendship before the bingeing begins.

Whether it’s a feel-good comedy, a total tear-jerker or a heisty action vibe with plenty of girl power, we’ve got you covered with a bunch of stellar movies to suss out with your mates.

Ocean’s 8

You’ve seen the noughties classic Ocean’s 11, starring the biggest male names in Hollywood like Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Matt Damon, now cop the modern day rendition starring the biggest female names in Hollywood and see how girls do heists better than blokes.

Queen Sandra Bullock and Aussie Cate Blanchett lead a stacked cast of badass babes including Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Helena Bonham Carter, Awkwafina and Rihanna.

The gals put their collective talents together and hatch a plan to knock off a super exxy Cartier necklace and split the profits to fund their individual side hustles.

The whole thing goes down at the Met Gala and several of your faves cameo during the heist including the Kardashian fam and Olivia Munn.

The Spy Who Dumped Me

Has one of your mates been ghosted by a guy? Well, here’s a flick to make them feel better about the whole sitch via some good ‘ol LOLs.

Mila Kunis plays Audrey, a woman who was dumped on her birthday (standard) by a bloke who ends up being a CIA agent.

Cut to her and her bestie Morgan (Kate McKinnon) being chased through Europe by assassins who are on the hunt for said ghoster.

The flick scored a People’s Choice Award for Favourite Comedy Movie for the many, many hilarious moments.

Warning: Excessive laughter may cause you to snort up your chardonnay.

A Simple Favour

Based on the thriller novel of the same name, A Simple Favour stars the v. dynamic duo of Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick.

It’s a movie that’s kinda hard to pigeonhole ‘coz it’s got a bit of everything: comedy, mystery, romance and thriller all wrapped up in one not-so-simple package.

Kendrick plays Stephanie, a widowed single mother who runs a craft vlog and Lively plays Emily, a mysterious PR executive who no one seems to know much about.

The ladies meet at their kids’ school and form an unlikely friendship that leads to lots of laughter, tears and absolute WTF moments.

Might I suggest a gin cocktail to go with the Aviation Gin (AKA Blake’s hubby Ryan Reynolds’ company) that is poured throughout?

A Walk To Remember

Millennials have been bitten by the nostalgia bug and we’re all craving the flicks we enjoyed way back when, so why not give this old fave a spin?

Bb Mandy Moore and Shane West play star-crossed lovers Jamie and Landon who meet under unusual circumstances and kick off the iconic love story.

Based on the popular Nicholas Sparks novel, the 2002 coming-of-age flick is one of the most beloved rom-coms of all damn time and for good reason.

Keep the bottle handy when you’re watching this one, refills will defo be required.

Hot Pursuit

If you’re after something a bit more spicy, we prescribe action-comedy flick Hot Pursuit, starring 11/10 legends Reese Witherspoon and Sofía Vergara.

Witherspoon plays Officer Rose Cooper, a cop tasked with protecting Daniella Riva (Vergara), the widow of a drug boss who was killed.

The pair must evade scores of crooked cops and murderous gunman to make their way across Texas.

It sounds dark AF, I know, but at its core, it’s a nice feel-good flick that’ll go great with whatever wine you’ve selected for the evening.

Me Before You

If you’ve settled on a rom-com mood, you can’t go past this banger of a flick.

British babes Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin star in Me Before You, a movie based on the 2012 book of the same name.

Clarke plays Lou, a carer who falls in love with Will (Claflin), a recently paralysed man.

It pretty much goes without saying but defs keep the tissues nearby for this one… and the cheese, ‘coz nothing heals a broken heart like a good slab of brie.
