Amazon’s New Series Stars Anne Hathaway & Tina Fey, So That’s Another One For The List

Modern Love

Amazon has released the teaser trailer for its new original series Modern Love and based off just 60 seconds, it absolutely looks like another one for the ol’ rom-com list.

From director John Carney (Begin Again, Once, Sing Street), Modern Love is a romantic comedy anthology series. I repeat, rom-com anthology series. It stars a bunch of familiar faces including Tina Fey (everything good in this world), Andy Garcia (When a Man Loves a Woman), Julia Garner (Ozark), Anne Hathaway (take your damn pick), Catherine Keener (Get Out), Dev Patel (Lion), John Slattery (Mad Men), Sofia Boutella (Atomic Blonde), Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel), Brandon Victor Dixon (The Color Purple, musical), John Gallagher Jr (The Newsroom), and Andrew Scott (Sherlock).

Modern Love is based on the heartwarming New York Times column of the same name, and will tell eight different and very modern love stories.

Modern Love premieres on Prime Video, October 18.

Hathaway, who recently announced her second pregnancy on Instagram, stars as a woman with bipolar disorder who is learning how to find love.

“The way we tell stories feels like it changes every single day,” Hathaway said during the show’s panel at the Television Critic Association. “And to me, this felt less like a television [series] and more like a short film. So I felt like I was showing up to an eight-day film shoot and that spoke to me because my work is primarily [in film].”

She added: “I was really happy, because of Amazon being a streaming platform, I knew people were going to see it.”

Earlier this year, Hathaway was officially cast as the one, the only Grand High Witch in The Witches reboot. Meanwhile, Fey recently announced that she’s working on a new comedy series at NBC with The Good Place star Ted Danson and her frequent collaborator Robert Carlock (co-creator of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt).
