‘Modern Family’s Nolan Gould Knows Who’s Getting Killed Off, Isn’t Telling

Modern Family is set to end its long run next year at the conclusion of its tenth season, and in an attempt to generate some intrigue for the final run of episodes, the creators of the show have teased that a “significant character” will be killed off.

They have naturally not revealed any further details as to who’s going to die, although it would be a pretty bold move to kill off someone in the main cast – my guess is that it will be a guest star like Shelley Long or Celia Weston, who play Mitch and Cam‘s mothers, respectively.

One person who does know is Nolan Gould, the 19-year-old actor who has played Luke Dunphy since the start of the show’s run. He’s not telling either, although when he was confronted recently by reporters, he said he couldn’t “confirm” whether or not he was the one headed for the chop.

He said:

“I pretty much, I know it’s not me, but I still think it’s kind of me. I’m pretty sure like they’re going to write in a second death and not tell anyone. That;s where my mind goes as a neurotic actor. I immediately called my agents after I heard the news. I was like, ‘Oh, they’re going to kill me off, they have to.’”

The young actor added that if they do bump him off, he would like to go “full Michael Bay action movie-style.”

Series creator Christopher Lloyd said that the tenth season of the show, which premiered in late September, will see its characters going through some big life changes.

The death, he said, “will be a moving event – and an event that has repercussions across several episodes.”

Recently, singer Guy Sebastian said that his kinkiest sexual fantasy involves a certain episode of Modern Family, which is definitely a mood of some kind.
