In more thrilling news, a number of high-profiled serial killers have reportedly been confirmed as characters in season two of the Netflix original series Mindhunter.
It has been a little while so if you need a refresher – Mindhunter is based on the true crime novel of the same name by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker. The Netflix version introduces us to FBI special agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), a reluctant duo who find themselves researching a new class of murderer, yet to be termed in 1977 – serial killers.
Ford and Tench journey through the country visiting, interviewing, and studying captured serial killers in an attempt to understand them and catch others. A prominent character in season one includes the terrifying Co-Ed Killer, Edmund Kemper, an American serial killer who murdered ten people including his mother and paternal grandparents between the years 1964 and 1973.
So according to That Hashtag Show’s exclusive, we’re getting a new batch of serial killers including the infamous cult leader, Charles Manson – convicted of seven counts of first-degree murder.
Per the publication, season two will also feature Tex Watson, leader of Manson’s followers who carried out the Tate Murders in August, 1969.
The Stocking Strangler, William Henry Hance – an American soldier and serial killer who assaulted seven women and murdered three is also a likely interviewee in season two as is Paul Bateson.
Bateson is the serial killer who actually appeared in the 1973 film The Exorcist as a surgeon’s assistant.

Dennis Rader, the B.T.K Killer whose story was frequently teased through season one is also set to return, played by Sonny Valicenti. The B.T.K killer, standing for ‘Bind, Torture, Kill’ murdered ten people in the years between 1974 and 1991.
There’s yet to be an official release date for season two but since season one came out in October 2017, let’s pray for October 2018.
