‘Stranger Things’ Star Millie Bobby Brown Is Keen For A Hopper/Joyce Romance

Stranger Things legend Millie Bobby Brown has officially joined the ‘Jopper’ family after saying she’d love to see Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) and Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) together romantically in the third season of the hit Netflix series.

For some context: Harbour’s been doing a lot of interviews lately for both Stranger Things and Hellboy.

(Harbour has been perfectly cast in the titular role alongside Milla Jovovich – it sounds very good and will hit the big screen early 2019.)

A lot of these interviews discuss Hopper’s character in season two, given we saw a whole new side to the complicated man after he started caring for Eleven (Brown).

So, in an interview with Variety Harbour got chatting about a possible relationship for Hopper – tackling feelings and whatnot – and how out of all the potential characters he could possibly be paired with, Joyce appears to be the perfect choice.

Unfortunate sad flashback alert but Joyce is now single after poor Bob was torn to shreds by the evil demon dog things.

From the little snippets we’ve copped over the past two seasons we know Joyce went to high school with Hopper. The two trust and care for each other (in their own ways) and at the end of season two, many fans felt the will-they-won’t-they vibes after the two characters share a thoughtful cigarette in the high school parking lot, something they used to do during school.

So, here we are:

“I think they’re built for each other and I would love to see them get together,” Harbour told Variety.

“From the very beginning, I thought that these are two tortured, messed up, beautiful people who are like puzzle pieces that can’t stand each other but actually need each other.”

MMMMMM.

Then Brown, speaking on behalf of us people, told Variety at the show’s For Your Consideration event that she’s pretty damn keen to see ‘Jopper’ happen.

Despite being tight-lipped about the upcoming third season Brown did refer to Ryder and Harbour as mum and dad. She also mentioned how their relationship would mean Will (Noah Schnapp) and Eleven would sort of be step-siblings – I’m down for that.

“I would love for them to get together. Jopper is like my inspiration in life.”

Eleven has spoken, make it happen @ Duffer Brothers.

Oh yeah, both Harbour and Brown said season three’s going to be the darkest yet so that’s fun.

Season three of Stranger Things will hit Netflix mid-2019.
