I am not going to tell you the circumstances under which I lost my virginity. I simply won’t. No matter how much you ask, I will not do it. I will tell you this: no portion of the filming was filmed. There was no camera and sound crew in the bedroom with me at the beginning, the middle, or the end of the process of losing my virginity. The same is not true of Married At First Sight‘s Matthew who, for whatever reason, decided he really wanted to go on this deeply personal journey with the TV watchers of Australia.
If you are well-versed in the MAFS format, you will know that usually they are quite coy about sex. They will hint that something ~intimate~ is happening but never quite speak to the extent of it, either to create an air of sexiness where there is none, or to protect the privacy and dignity of the people involved (lol just kidding). Well not frickin’ this time, Matthew is not at all shy about telling the camera and thus the world that he and Lauren consummated their fake marriage in their fake marital bed.

While my personal gut reaction is that it is utterly perverse to play out this experience while being filmed for a television show, there were others who felt nothing buy joy for the newly deflowered Matthew:

No doubt, we live in a society.
