Enjoy The Charming Trailer For Matt Groening’s New Show ‘Disenchantment’

Once again, Comic-Con San Diego has delivered the goods – this time in the form of Disenchantment, the first trailer for a sparkly new project by The Simpsons and Futurama creator, Matt Groening.

The ten-episode series chucks us into the medieval kingdom of Dreamland where one human princess, Bean (Abbi Jacobson) lives and is about to marry some random prince she’s not so keen on. As you’ll see from the trailer, Bean skips out on the wedding, accidentally impales the Prince of Bentwood’s head on the iron-but-not-iron throne, and together with her demon friend Luci (Eric Andre) and elf friend Elfo (Nat Faxon) sets off on some fun (mis)adventures.

Sounds great.

Based on the trailer this show seems really sweet. Bean just “wants to be in charge” of her own destiny, Elfo is dying to “see the outside world” while Luci “wants to get rid of all the diseases plaguing mankind and replace them with worst ones.”

There’s something for everyone.

Futurama faves and voice-acting legends John DiMaggio and Billy West also lend their voice talents to the series.

In other news, Bean has four fingers and a thumb and it’s unsettling to look at.

You can catch Disenchantment when it hits Netflix on August 17.

In other serious animated trailer news, Comic-Con also gave us our first look at Dragon Prince by Avatar: The Last Airbender head-writer and director, Aaron Ehasz and Uncharted game director Justin Richmond.

The series tells the tale of two human princes who form an unlikely friendship with an elfin assassin who’s supposed to kill them, all while on a quest to bring peace to their warring lands.

I’m personally not 100 per cent on the animation yet but it’ll probably grow on me.

All episodes of The Dragon Prince will land on Netflix, September 14.
