Watch The First 3 Mins Of The New Film From ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ Animator

Well, praises be. Animators and producers who worked on some of Studio Ghibli‘s biggest movies like Howl’s Moving Castle and Spirited Away are releasing a new film in Australia this week, and yes it’s as magical and beautiful as the previous works of Ghibli mastermind, Hayao Miyazaki.

Mary and the Witch’s Flower is from a same animator that blessed us mere mortals with iconic Japanese animated films, and the same producer who did the more recent Secret World of Arietty, and When Marnie Was There. So you know it’s gunna look bloody brilliant.

Mary and the Witch’s Flower is the first feature film from Studio Pontoc and stars Kate Winslet and Jim Broadbent, and if the first three minutes are anything to go by, it’s going to put up some tough competition against your Ghibli faves.

The animation looks spectacular and as intricate and detailed as what we’ve loved from Miyazaki and y’know what, just watch the damned thing. I can’t explain how it made me feel apart from “giddy as hell”.
