Marvel Is Extremely Keen To Make A Movie, Any Movie, With Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves

For longtime fans, seeing Keanu Reeves in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the ultimate dream. For some reason or another, it just hasn’t happened yet. But don’t worry, Marvel’s working on it… and have been for almost every damn movie they make.

In an interview with comicbook.comMarvel Studios president Kevin Feige was asked if he had ever considered casting Reeves in the MCU.

Turns out he has, many times.

“We talk to him for almost every film we make,” Feige revealed. “I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.”

And by right way, he means the right role. Marvel previously pursued Jake Gyllenhaal “multiple times” to join the y’uge MCU. Fortunately, both ends finally landed on Mysterio – a character in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Far From Home. That movie will hit Aussie cinemas July 1.

It’s worth mentioning that Reeves reportedly turned down a role in Captain Marvel for John Wick 3The actor had been considered for the part of Yon-Rogg but it ultimately went to Jude Law.

Anywho, in an – and we can’t stress this enough – utterly adorable Buzzfeed interview with puppies, Reeves said that if he had to play a character in the DC Universe or MCU, he’d choose Wolverine.

Hmm.

And as far as the ol’ rumour mill goes, Reeves is apparently in talks with Marvel for a stint in The Eternals – phase four of the MCU.

SO, about five million years ago, the almighty entities The Celestials created the Eternals and their evil counterparts, Deviants. Imagine them as an even stronger version of the Avengers, with more cosmic energy.

Back in March, it was reported Angelina Jolie was in talks to join the cast. Then in May, Bodyguard and Game of Thrones star Richard Madden also copped the “in talks” treatment.

Toy Story 4, which features Reeves’ voice, is in cinemas now.
