As a petition to have Married At First Sight (MAFS) ‘relationship expert’ Mel Schilling fired reaches 54K+ signatures, an ex-contestant has spoken out and revealed what she is really like behind-the-scenes and it is… not good.

The scorned contestant, Sean Thomsen, slammed the ‘expert’s’ behaviour during a scathing Instagram Story.
“Hopefully the petition gets 50,000 and they kick Mel out,” he said before the petition had exceeded its goal. “Everyone goes, ‘Mel’s awesome Mel’s awesome!’ She wasn’t awesome to me.’”
“She ignored me the whole time, didn’t say shit because I didn’t fit in that category,” he added.

He went on to agree with the creator of the Change.org petition and its whopping number of signers who believe Schilling should be sacked.
“So, fucking kick her out. I don’t give a fuck, get rid of her. Cancel the show. It’s a fucking load of shit so I’m pretty happy that it’s gone the way it’s gone.”
Sean also said his experience on the show was a bad one and praised the general public for “waking up” to the truth of reality telly.
“It kind of makes me realise that I’m not going insane,” he said, adding that he was “losing [his] mind” on the show.

“I know deep down in my identity and my core beliefs that I’m a good person. And I couldn’t believe the way that they were trying to portray me,” he said.
“I’m pretty happy about Australia finally waking up and realising how crazy it was and hopefully it’s just the start of it… It’s just ridiculous how they’ve gotten away with it for this long. So I’m pretty happy.”

MAFS’ executive producer John Walsh issued a statement via Daily Mail Australia where he and the show supported Schilling.
“There were 12 women in the room that night and a man used language that was highly insulting and inflammatory in reference to his wife,” he said.
“Mel acted in the only way appropriate by calling out the language – language that is not ever considered acceptable anywhere, anytime.”
He adds that he and his colleagues are “shocked at the backlash Mel has received for defending another woman.”
