Honestly, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that once a few of the Married At First Sight‘s fellas get a few beers into them, they get a bit cocky and gossipy and tend to let their rascally masculinity take over their thoughts and whatever comes out of their mouths.
Let me preface this with declaring that I don’t watch this show every night. I’ve seen maybe half an episode where one wife (??) absolutely dressed down her ~husband~ because he left her alone on a hometown visit and refused to meet her friends (???). In saying that, every second that I watched of that episode had my housemate and I laughing at the terrible excuses that men come up with.
Last night’s episode was a perfect example of this, when all the boys got together for a bit of a wine and whine (or beer and bitch), which turned into a conversation that everyone saw coming like a screaming freight train 100kms away. Troy floated the hypothetical about the wives, and which one of them they’d root if given half the chance.
Even less surprising is that it was love rat Dean who decided to list the women in the competition that he’d have a go at, and confessed that he originally picked out Carly to be his wedded wife “judging solely on looks”. Carly’s actual faux-husband Justin said that he knew Carly had her eye on Dean (why?? don’t do it!) and that she was “like a little sister” which to me is a deeply off thing to say about someone who you’ve just proudly slept with but O K.

A couple of the other husbands weren’t pleased with the behaviour of the others who were screaming deeply sexist things about the women they’re currently trying to forge a relationship with. Both Telv and Patrick sat back and watched the gross comments unfold, reprimanding the boys a couple of times with things like “don’t say that shit”.

We’re yet to see the consequences of this conversation but good lord do I wanna march in there, sit them all down, and tell them that I’m mot mad, I’m just disappointed. They say they don’t want to disrespect the girls but let me tell ya, this is absolutely 110% disrespecting of the girls.
Anyway, this bin-fire of a show keeps everyone coming back for more because clearly we’re all messy bitches who love drama.
