Extremely dedicated fan website TheOneRing.net are reporting that the new insanely expensive The Lord of the Ring television series will spend its first season focusing on a young Aragorn.
TheOneRing.net are quoting multiple sources from Amazon Studios and a very mysterious press release so grain of salt required.
As a result of the great bloody battle between Netflix and Amazon, the latter sealed a deal for a five-season television adaption of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. One can only imagine the amount of Amazon lawyers needed to complete such a deed but they were inevitably successful.
As The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported, Amazon Studios shook on a cool $250 million rights deal with HarperCollins, New Line Cinema, and the Tolkien estate.
According to the fan site, Aragorn will only be the focus of season one.
TheOneRing.net made the announcement via their twitter.

So according to their multiple sources, the show will take a look at a young Thorongil (Aragorn’s alias when he was a wee lad) as he learns to be a ranger and such. And we don’t even know if we’ll cop Arwen’s story yet AKA the love of Aragorn’s life. Although, she’ll probably make an appearance.
In terms of time, this would place us a little while after the events of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies which potentially means a 10-year-old Aragorn on our screens.
But considering ‘Ranger Aragorn’ was 87 in The Fellowship of the Ring, we could honestly be meeting any kind of ‘Young Aragorn’ since ageing runs a little differently in the Tolkien universe.
In other words, the possibilities for a very epic first season are deliciously high.
