Lena Dunham Granted Another Crack At HBO With Jennifer Garner Comedy

The understandable divisiveness surrounding go to millenial punching bag Lena Dunham aside, the cultural impact of Girls, the TV show that first introduced us to her, is not negligible.

Yes, she has a reckless propensity for putting her foot in her mouth and immediately apologising and to many she’s a walking second-hand embarrassment store, but the imprint of her show which premiered in 2012 causing shockwaves of hot takes and admiration in equal measure, carries through to today’s cultural landscape.

Expectations then, are unprecedently high for her return to TV drama, with today’s announcement of a brand new HBO show to be helmed by Dunham, and set to star Jennifer Garner.

Reuniting with her Girls co-creator Jenni Konner, Dunham will write and executive produce Camping, which is based on a UK series of the same name and will star Garner as Kathryn Siddell-Bauers, a “messy, tough and provocative” housewife who’s planned weekend away camping goes to absolute shit.

The series has an eight episode order but no airdate has been specified. Check out the trailer for the UK version of Camping below:
