Just as the infuriatingly catchy ‘Everything Is Awesome‘ from the original Lego Movie had finally faded from our collective consciousness, a newer, catchier song has appeared from the upcoming Lego Movie 2, to get stuck inside our heads forever.
‘Catchy Song’ by Dillon Francis featuring T-Pain and That Girl Lay Lay works on a number of levels. While they are clearly trolling us with the most brainlessly catchy piece of pop fluff they could muster, I’ll be damned if it isn’t also INFECTIOUS AS HELL.

Dillon Francis took to Instagram earlier today to brag about how awesome it is that he got to perform the lead song for The Lego Movie 2, adding “so if it gets stuck inside ur head and you want to punch me in the face I’m sorry … you gotta admit tho it’s catchy af.”
The Lego Movie 2: The Second One sees Chris Pratt and Elizabeth Banks returning for another satire of consumerism that doubles as a opportunity to sell bulk amounts of toys. The original’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller returned as producers and writers time time around.
Will Arnett, Alison Brie, Nick Offerman and Charlie Day will be reprising their original roles, with Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz and Maya Rudolph joining the cast as new additions, amongst other names from the DC universe.
Jason Momoa is set to voice the character of Aquaman, with Gal Gadot playing Wonder Woman. Margot Robbie will voice Harley Quinn, while Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will return as Superman and Green Lantern respectively.
The film will be in Australian cinemas on March 28.
