Reese Witherspoon Reportedly *This* Close To Starring In ‘Legally Blonde 3’

Reese Witherspoon is reportedly real bloody close to returning as Elle Woods for Legally Blonde 3, because the world will never, ever tire of legal masterminds with killer wardrobes.

Deadline reports Witherspoon, who first appeared as an endlessly ambitious sorority sister back in 2001, is not far off signing a deal to star in and produce the long-awaited threequel.

If it goes ahead, the project is expected to unite Witherspoon with Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Karen McCullah, who wrote the big-screen adaptation of Amanda Brown’s novel.

Original producer Mark Platt is also believed to be linked to the project, and may join Witherspoon’s own production house Hello Sunshine on the venture.

There’s no word on whether original director Robert Luketic will return for Legally Blonde 3. Similarly, there’s little to link Witherspoon’s co-stars Luke Wilson and the wonderful Jennifer Coolidge to the project.

However, one unfortunate omission has been confirmed. Moonie, the chihuahua who portrayed Woods’ canine sidekick Buster, died in 2016.

Watch this space – Elle Woods might just crack the Supreme Court this time around. Or the White House.
