LeBron’s Sports-Meets-Politics Series ‘Shut Up & Dribble’ Has A New Teaser

The first teaser trailer for LeBron James’ docuseries Shut Up & Dribble has arrived, briefly outlining the show’s M.O. to outline the link between sports and politics – especially for athletes competing under a Donald Trump administration.

The fifteen-second clip features the newly-minted LA Laker discussing the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ 2014 decision to wear warm-up shirts with “I can’t breathe” emblazoned across the front.

That phrase was a direct reference to the last words of Eric Garner, a black man whose death at the hands of a New York City Police Department officer sparked national outrage and served as a catalyst for the Black Lives Matter movement.

The show’s title is also a direct quote from Fox News pundit Lauren Ingraham, who in February this year scolded James for expressing his negative opinion of Trump and told the athlete to, well, shut up and dribble.

Shut Up & Dribble, which will follow the NBA‘s social and political impact from its inception to the current day, is slated to premiere in the US this October.
