WATCH: Larry David Goes “Hmmm, Nah” In 1st ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ S9 Trailer

HBO have dropped the first trailer for the upcoming ninth season of Larry David‘s beloved ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm‘.

The trailer posits that Larry is a kind of Batman, described as “one hero, who never stays silent, who fights against injustice, wherever he finds it”. Which is actually a pretty fair description of his character in the show – he is not a man who will pipe down, especially not when he reckons he’s in the right.

The voiceover goes on, the camera panning over references to past seasons/excellent jokes: “And the world needs him now more than ever.

And so the Larry signal is projected into the sky, and we all wait with bated breath to see if he will answer the call.

But it’s a hard pass from Larry, who is busy lying down. When he gets a call on his mobile, he is dismissive: “Turn off the light. I’m not going.”

In that moment, Larry David is all of us choosing not to leave the house on a Friday night – even though it’s Sandra‘s birthday, and everyone’s going dancing! – because we don’t want to.

The new season of ‘Curb‘ returns, after a six-year hiatus, to Oz screens from 2 October.
