Kyrie Irving’s ‘Uncle Drew’ Is Copping A Feature Film & The Trailer Is Here

While we’re all waiting for that other ad to be made into the fully-fledged feature film it richly deserves, another commercial is gearing up to release the feature ad-to-film adaption we all knew was coming sooner or later.

NBA star, flat-earther, and insanely weird ball of joy Kyrie Irving paired up with Pepsi and some lengthy stints in a makeup chair to gift us all the sheer delight that is Uncle Drew: A grizzled elderly vet of many a street ball court that, in reality, was merely Kyrie in a whole bunch of latex raining hell on unsuspecting ballers foolish enough to step up to him.

As it turns out, production house Temple Hill Productions bought out the rights to Uncle Drew from Pepsi, and now Drew is getting a no fooling, absolutely real, totally legit full-length feature film.

Uncle Drew is set to follow Irving, as the elderly Drew, gathering the band back together Blues Brothers-style for one last tilt at the legendary Rucker Tournament in Harlem.

The trailer also shows off the film’s extended cast, which features basketballing greats Shaquille O’NealReggie MillerChris WeberNate Robinson, and Lisa Leslie all also in old-person makeup, alongside “younger” cast members Lil Rel HoweryTiffany HaddishErica Ash, and Nick Kroll.

The trailer? Mates, it’s the good stuff.

In. To. It.

Uncle Drew is scheduled to hit cinemas in the States on June 29th. No word on any potential Australian release is available at this time.
