Kit Harington Told His Very Uninterested Mate How ‘Game Of Thrones’ Ends

Kit Harington

Somewhere out there is a man, identified just as James, who knows the complete and whole ending to Game of Thrones. He is not George R.R. Martin in disguise, a director, writer, set designer or anyone to do with the series. He’s Kit Harington‘s mate and he has zero interest in Thrones.

On Friday’s packed episode of The Graham Norton Show, Harington dropped by to hype the eighth and final season of Thrones. For months now, the Jon Snow actor has had to ward off a heap of season eight questions and spoilers. It’s no easy task, especially when you’re Jon bloody Snow. So to lessen the burden of carrying such a secret, Harington decided to divulge the ending to a friend.

“The intensity of finishing something like this and not being able to tell anybody is so hard,” Harington told Norton. “It got too much, so I’ve told one person – my friend James, who doesn’t watch the show and fell asleep in the first episode of the very first season.

“I knew then that he was zero-interested in what I do.”

Goddamn it, James.

“We were having a drink the other night and I told him everything about how the series ends, and he couldn’t have looked less interested if he tried!”

UGH.

Did Harington reveal these secrets on Graham Norton? Of course not but he did chat about the show’s budget and how the team really went to town on the finale. The actor also revealed how nervy he is about season eight.

“There are some incredible sequences, but I’ve woken up in the middle of the night recently thinking, ‘What if, after eight seasons, we have mucked it up!’”

To stake you right in the heart, Harington also shared how bloody emotional he was at the completion of filming.

“I was determined to be cool about the end and decided that when people came up to me and said, ‘Are you Jon Snow?’ that I would say very calmly, ‘I used to be’.

“When I left the set for the final time I was very emotional, and when a girl came up to me and asked the inevitable question, I broke down and cried, ‘I used to be!’ She backed off pretty quickly!”

Harington was joined by Julianne Moore, Tom Walker and Avengers: Endgame stars Paul Rudd and Chris Hemsworth.

The final season of Game of Thrones will premiere at 11:00am, Monday, April 15 on Foxtel.
