Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has revealed that there’s one episode that will never, ever, ever air, unless he does something to exceptionally piss off the showrunners.
Speaking recently to The Guardian, the actor (and owner of 2017’s most famous ass) revealed that HBO filmed a pilot for the series that was – compared to the one that later aired – unimaginably shit.
In this version, Jon Snow was a clean-shaven, baby-faced bastard. (Harington also wore a wig, but given that everybody was just *SHOCKED* when they found out Emilia Clarke wasn’t actually blonde, I’d say the Game of Thrones hair and makeup department has the wig thing down pat.)
“They made a lot of mistakes,” he said of the pilot. “It didn’t look right, didn’t feel right, had nothing different about it.”
Apparently, pretty much no one – including Harington himself – has seen it, but that hasn’t stopped D.B. Weiss and David Benioff regularly threaten to unleash it on the world.
“They say, if I ever piss them off too much, they’ll release it on YouTube,” he said. “Every now and then, they send me a screengrab, just as a threat.”
He also revealed a little bit about how he wants to play the moment Jon Snow finds out he banged his aunt, a.k.a. Daenerys Targaryen.
“I really hope that he just nods slowly and goes, ‘Damned right’,” he said. “Something really horribly inappropriate, and you find out Jon’s had a really sick mind the whole time. That’s the way I’d love to play it. I’ll try it for one take, anyway.
“[Emilia and I] were very good friends by the time we got to the sex scene. Which is really weird. Usually, you’d turn up and you’d know the actor, but you’re not best mates. The main thing was trying not to laugh. It was like, OK, if we laugh, we’ll never get this scene done, so we’ve got to do minimal takes, then we can crack up about it afterwards.”
Doing the lord’s work, guys. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to hassle Weiss and Benioff about that unaired episode like it’s Trump’s piss tape itself.
