Kit Harington Knows Nothing, Had Totally Wrong Idea Of How ‘GoT’ Would End

Kit Harington Game Of Thrones

After a FULL YEAR off, it’s finally that time again, when Winter is Coming (as in Game of Thrones, not the actual season) and we’re all sharing outrageous theories as to how we think the show will play out. Even from split-second images in the trailer, we’ve all been trying to figure out what’s gonna go down in the much hyped final season.

Even Kit Harington, who stars in the bloody show, stockpiled his own list of theories before shooting for season eight began. And you’d think someone who is in the cast, who might have his ear to the ground (or to the door of the writers’ room), would have some inkling as to what was planned for the characters.

But either Kit Harington is incredibly thick, or it’s just a really, really shocking season, because the actor appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this week and revealed that all of his Game of Thrones finale theories were completely and utterly wrong. That’s right, folks: Jon Snow knows nothing.

“I had theories all along and all of them were wrong,” he told the host. “I’m quite glad I never told anyone my theories.” Of course Stephen, like any interviewer worth his weight in Westerosi gold, pushes Kit to find out any shred of detail he possibly can, but Kit won’t be swayed. “I can’t say anything and all of us are in the same boat. All of us in the cast are like ‘what do we even say?” I can’t even make something up because that gets picked up.”

Kit then recalls that when they got to the table read stage “I was the one person who hadn’t read the episodes”, adding: “everyone else had them 3 days before and read them… I told everyone it was because I didn’t want to know what happened but really I think it was just laziness.”

He says:

I got to the table read and they used me as a litmus test… David and Dan [Game of Thrones showrunners] were looking at my reactions as the events unfolded and they got some pretty good reactions, it was all filmed. I was very shocked and surprised at certain events unfolding… then I cried.”

I have to say I’m okay with Kit’s stance because I don’t like spoilers, but Stephen was desperate, so the host forces Kit to sit there with the camera on him while he tosses wild Game of Thrones theories his way, including one that involves Tony Stark being Jon’s real father, or the “ultimate crossover” as the host puts it.
