Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Stanley Tucci & More Join The ‘Kingsman’ Prequel

Kingsman

In excellent, excellent news the world has been gifted some details about the upcoming Kingsman prequel. We’ve known about the prequel for a little while now but apart from a couple of rumours and teeny tiny hints, we haven’t copped too much. Now, we’ve got an all-star cast.

Deadline has confirmed Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace), Ralph Fiennes (The Grand Budapest Hotel … also Voldemort), dapper man Matthew Goode (Downton Abbey), Charles bloody Dance (Game of Thrones), beloved Stanley Tucci (The Lovely Bones), !!! Daniel Bruhl !!! (The AlienistTom Hollander (Bohemian Rhapsody), and the one and only Djimon Hounsou (most recently seen in Aquaman) are all locked in.

Harris Dickinson (Beach Rats) has also been cast in the film as a character similar to Taron Egerton‘s Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin.

Rhys Ifans (Elementary) and Robert Aramayo (Game of Thrones) co-star too.

That is one elite cast.

Director Matthew Vaughn will return to helm the series from a script written by Karl Gajdusek (Oblivion).

Vaughn previously told Empire that the prequel is apparently operating under the name Kingsman: The Great Game. The film, which will take a deeper look at the spy organisation, will be set in the 1900s.

Since this film’s a prequel, Egerton will not be in the film but that doesn’t mean he won’t ever reprise his witty role again.

In November, while the actor confirmed he wouldn’t be in the third film, Egerton told Yahoo Movies UK

That doesn’t mean I won’t be in Kingsman ever again. I was with Matthew [Vaughn] as little as a few days ago, we’re still very much in business together, but his next journey in that world doesn’t involve me.”

In the meantime, you can catch Egerton in the forthcoming musical biopic about the legendary Sir Elton John.

Bryce Dallas Howard, Richard Madden, and Jamie Bell co-star.

Rocketman will land in cinemas, May 30.
