Judy Greer, ‘Quirky Bestie’ Finally Gets The Love She Deserves

While we’re discussing romcoms, the good people on the internet have thrown the spotlight onto Judy Greer, a bloody veteran of the romcom genre. Think Wedding Planner, 13 Going On 30, and 27 Dresses.

She’s the sassy best friend always cast in a supporting role and she knows it.

And though she wasn’t the centre of our childhood attention, she’s apparently now the goals of adulthood.

This all started when Sophie Vershbow posted the below.

Yes, that is frenemy Judy as Lucy pretending to care about whatever Jenna’s (Jennifer Garner) saying in this ‘terrible’ romcom.

You might think, “Ew, I’m not Lucy” since she kinda does plunge a knife into Jenna’s career in order to push herself forward… So here are a bunch of other characters she plays that are now highly relatable.

But first, tweets.

To the Judys.

‘Always Stressed Penny’

Penny is always stressed because she has to deal with all the shit Mary (Jennifer Lopez) throws at her. She’s the motherly friend, the I’ll-always-be-there-for-you friend, the indecisive but adorable friend.

We’ve also all been in her shoes of innocently setting your best mate up with a handsome dude only for it to backfire in your face as you find yourself ten cocktails deep in the drama cabana.

The Wedding Planner

Same.

‘I Hate Everything Casey’

Bit of a loose canon, bit of an expert judger. Casey doesn’t care about your problems and is 100 per cent done with your shit. You go to Penny when you need someone to slap you for texting a fuckboy.

27 Dresses

‘Just Go For It Marty’

Marty’s your fave work mate who just wants everyone to be happy. She’ll also give it to you when you need a good talking to. For the most part though, she’s just going with the flow.

Love Happens

Sassy Co-Worker Cindy

Cindy, has her life together (mostly) and totally got all straight As in high school.

Personally, I’m Judy in animated series Archer – dramatic and slightly cooked.

But also if we’re talking about extraordinary romcom sidekicks, we must talk about Heather Burns.

Like c’mon.

Heather starred as Meryl in Two Week’s Notice, as CHERYL (surely an inside joke) in Miss Congeniality, and as Christina in You’ve Got Mail.

Happy Sunday.
