The first images of Josh Brolin’s time-traveling tough nut Cable have been released ahead of his Deadpool 2 debut, as if the follow-up to the surprise superhero smash wasn’t already hyped up enough.
Photos shared across the Instagram accounts of Brolin and leading dude Ryan Reynolds shows the robo-armed unit looking staunch as hell, and you should gaze upon the steely wonder immediately.
Cyborg components? Check. Hilariously huge firearm? Check. Teddy bear? Not-so-surprisingly, check.
Graeme McMillan over at The Hollywood Reporter reckons that stuffed toy may have more significance than you’d expect. He speculates it could relate to Cable’s canonical backstory as the son of X-Man Cyclops; if so, that’d open up the Deadpool cinematic universe to way more involvement in the X-Men oeuvre.
Of course, this reveal comes after Atlanta star Zazie Beetz was first shown in full Domino regalia.
Deadpool 2 is slated for release on June 1, 2018. If only you had Cable’s time-traveling capabilities, hey?
