Jon Favreau is the latest Hollywood heavy hitter that Disney is letting play in the suddenly not-exclusive Star Wars sandbox, thanks to an upcoming series that will air on the House of Mouse’s much-touted streaming service set to launch at some point next year.

While the series was originally announced earlier this year, today Favreau has taken to Instagram to reveal some incredibly choice details about the series, including its apparent title: The Mandalorian.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic…

Bloody, hell yes.

The warrior in question reportedly comes from the same race of beings that spawned both Jango and Boba Fett, almost indisputably the two most beloved cult figures in the Star Wars universe.

Favreau is set to serve as executive producer on the series and will pen the script himself, but beyond that – and the above – little else is known about the live-action series thus far.

Disney’s streaming service is yet to receive an officially confirmed name or launch date (all indications point to a late-2019 launch for the incoming Netflix rival), so don’t expect to see or hear much of The Mandalorian until more concrete details about its future home are known.

But with a premise like that, you’d be mad not to be even a little excited.

Badass bounty hunter clipping fools on the edge of the Republic’s reach? Hell yes. Givvus. Givvus now.
