In absolutely no surprise whatsoever, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum has topped its predecessor’s box office, becoming the highest-grossing film in the franchise.
Mr Wick achieved the feat after just 10 days of release and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, has already grossed a cool USD $181 million at the global box office. In comparison, John Wick: Chapter 2 raked in a total USD $171.5 million worldwide and John Wick kicked it all off with USD $88.7 million.
And to think, all of this happened because of a fuck’n dog.
If you haven’t heard the good news already: John Wick: Chapter 4 is officially happening. Lionsgate announced the news last week, revealing the fourth instalment will hit the big screen come 2021.
According to Variety, the announcement was made via text – a nod to The High Table: “You have served. You will be of service. John Wick: Chapter 4 is coming – May 21, 2021.”
In Parabellum, Jonathan is 10/10 excommunicado – with a $14 million bounty on his head – after he did a big boo boo in John Wick 2.
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is in cinemas now.
P.S. You can catch a cheeky Keanu in Ali Wong‘s upcoming romantic comedy, Always Be My Maybe. The film, co-starring Randall Park, will hit Netflix on May 31.
The flick tells the story of childhood mates Sasha (Wong) and Marcus (Park), who everyone thought would inevitably end up together. They even banged at one point but the longtime pals never quite the made leap into relationship territory.
15 years down the track, Sasha is a famous chef engaged to Brandon (Daniel Dae Kim) and Marcus is a local muso. When shit hits the fan, Sasha and Marcus are reunited and soon feel the old sparks of lurve but they struggle to adapt to each other’s worlds.
Oh, and Sasha’s very keen on this other very sexy bloke, Mr Keanu Reeves.
