Jason Segel’s Making His Return To The Small Screen With A Brand New Series

Jason Segel, otherwise known as Marshall Eriksen, otherwise known as Nick Andopolis is finally returning to our tellies in his first small screen acting gig since How I Met Your Mother wrapped in 2014.

Somehow, it’s been four years.

Although during that time, Segel’s been up to quite a bit. He’s written a couple of young adult novels like the gripping science fiction book, Otherworld. Slight tangent but Segel teamed up with writer Kirsten Miller for a whole bunch of sci-fi and ghoulish books which you learn more about, here.

Back to it – this new television series is called Dispatches From Elsewhere and is written by and will star Segel. He’ll also serve as executive producer because he is a man of too many talents.

Per Varietywe’re looking at an anthology styled series with each episode going for an easy hour. If you’re unfamiliar with anthology shows, each episode will be about a different character and story. Check out Netflix’s Easy starring Dave Franco, Elizabeth Reaser, and Emily Ratajkowski for a real quick idea of the style.

Here’s the very mysterious synopsis to Dispatches From Elsewhere:

“A group of ordinary people who stumble onto a puzzle hiding just behind the veil of everyday life. They will come to find that the mystery winds far deeper than they ever imagined. ”

Honestly, this could mean just about anything and sounds exactly like something Ted Mosby would sink his teeth into.

There’s also going to be viewer engagements across “multiple platforms” which might mean we’ll be able to interact with mini puzzles here and there.

Shooting for this mysterious and ambitious sounding series will begin next year and will air on American cable channel AMC… don’t find ways to stream it – very bad, illegal, don’t do it…

Meanwhile, if you’re interested in sci-fi then you might be interested in this rather dark Netflix Original called The Discovery. It’s available on our Netflix and co-stars Rooney Mara and Robert Redford as well as a couple of faces you’ll no doubt recognise.

Its Netflix synopsis reads: A scientist whose proof of an afterlife caused a rash of suicides forges ahead with his research, while his disapproving son falls for a troubled woman.”
