The ‘Hereditary’ Director’s Next Flick ‘Midsommar’ Has A Creepy New Trailer

Ari Aster, the bloke behind 2018’s unsettling horror flick, Hereditary, has a new movie called Midsommar coming out this year, and a brand new trailer for it has just dropped.

Described as Scandinavian folk horror,” the film follows the journey of a group of mates who travel to a rural Swedish town for a festival which only happens every 90 years. As you’d expect, a whole lot of weird shit goes down during their stay, culminating in what looks to be a pretty trippy or bloody finale.

The cast includes Florence Pugh, Jack Reynor, William Jackson Harper, Vilhelm Blomgran, Archie Madekwe, Ellora Torchia, and Will Poulter. You can and should suss out the new trailer below.

Hell yeah, it looks like we’re in for some pretty wild visuals if that powerful clap is anything to go by. What’s going on there, you reckon? Someone’s spiked the punch, probably.

Either way, it’ll be interesting to see how Aster’s sophomore effort will compare to Hereditary, which was certainly one of the more interesting horror movies of the past few years. I’m expecting some kind of fucked up reveal at the very least.

If you’re keen to check out Midsommar, it’ll hit theatres on July 3.
