Watch The Gut-Wrenching Trailer For HBO’s Robin Williams Documentary

The emotional trailer for HBO’s Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind has debuted revealing an intimate look into the life of one of the industry’s most beloved comedians.

Williams, a larger-than-life force in his industry, died by suicide on August 11, 2014. After his death it was revealed the comedian had been suffering from Lewy Body Dementia. He was 63-years-old.

Following his death, Williams’ wife Susan penned a heartbreaking essay sharing her experience with her husband’s disease to raise awareness for the “little-known but deadly Lewy body disease”. 

The documentary shares some of Williams’ greatest and darkest moments throughout his four decade career and features interviews by his son Zak Williams, and comedians including Steve Martin, Billy Crystal,Whoopi Goldberg, Pam Dawber, Eric Idle, and David Letterman. 

Zak Williams says in his interview:

“My father didn’t always feel he was succeeding, but he was the most successful person I know.”

Williams’ previous interviews from throughout his career will also be used to narrate a majority of the documentary.

There will be glimpses into his creative process when he began his career in San Francisco to his success at The Julliard School in New York, followed by the moment Williams struck fame on the small screen with Mork & Mindy. 

Not to mention Williams’ incredible career on the big screen with his performance in Dead Poet’s Society and his Academy Award-winning performance in Good Will HuntingWeaving his way into the memories of millions of children around the world, Williams brought smiles to faces through his unforgettable characters Genie in Disney’s Aladdin and the ridiculous but undoubtedly lovable Mrs Doubtfire. 

The documentary is directed by Marina Zenovich and produced by Alex Gibney and Shirel Kozak.
