The subtext underpinning House Of Cards‘ final season would likely sink most shows.
But most shows don’t have Robin Wright.
Wright convincingly asserts the dominance of new President Claire Underwood in a timely teaser for the Netflix drama’s sixth season, and the words “Happy Independence Day, to me” convey… well, a hell of a lot.

The show’s focus transitioned onto Wright’s character after the removal of Kevin Spacey, who is currently under several police investigations regarding allegations of sexual assault.
How the show will deal with the excision of its former protagonist is yet to be seen. Christ, maybe there’s some karmic train-based revenge that takes place offscreen.
In any case, it’s her turn. Finally. Expect House Of Cards Season Six to arrive in the not-too-distant future.
