The prolific German composer is behind the scores of numerous big titles. List your top ten fave films and there’s a good chance Zimmer is responsible for at least one of those scores.

Per Film Music ReporterZimmer will compose the music for the sequel taking over from Rupert Gregson-Williams who scored the first film.

Interestingly, this would mark Zimmer’s return to the superhero business after he announced his retirement from the genre back in 2016. Previously, Zimmer had composed the music for Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight, Batman V Superman, and Man of Steel.

Zimmer’s other credits include Dunkirk, 12 Years A Slave, The Lion King, Blade Runner 2049, Sherlock Holmes, and Black Hawk Down among a handful more.

There’s also Interstellar – an already stressful film made far more intense because of Zimmer’s score.

… if you haven’t watched Interstellar this is big spoiler:

My ass is sweating.

Fun Fact: A very young Timothée Chalamet is in Interstellar.

Or, there’s Time from the film Inception which never fails to make your entire body breakout in goosebumps:

Zimmer is also behind the score of Steve McQueen‘s new film Widows and he’s also working on the live-action adaption of Disney‘s The Lion King.

Wonder Woman 1984, directed by Patty Jenkins, will see Gal Gadot return to the titular role alongside the suddenly alive Steve Trevor (Pine). Kristen Wiig‘s evil Cheetah, otherwise known as Barbara Ann Minerva, will be this sequel’s big villain so expect some badass music.

In the comics, Minerva is an ambitious archaeologist who’ll do just about anything to get her hands on rare artefacts. As the heir to an estate and pretty fortune, Minerva is able to fund a number of expeditions. During one of these very expeditions in the African jungles, the archaeologist ends up on the wrong side of a ritual she believed would grant her the powers of the cheetah. I mean, it does work and she cops the powers of intense speed, strength, night vision, and a heightened sense of smell and hearing but it comes at a terrible price for Minerva’s human side.

Wonder Woman 1984 will hit cinemas, November 2019.
