Turns Out Gwendoline Christie Accurately Predicted The ‘GoT’ Ending Years Ago

In 2017, during an interview on extraTV, Gwendoline Christie – Ser Brienne of Tarth, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard – correctly predicted the ending to Game of Thrones. And by ending, we mean Bran the Broken, Ruler of the Six Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm – that one.

In the interview with Mario Lopez, Christie and co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau were asked who they thought would end up on the Iron Throne.

While Coster-Waldau – Jaime Lannister (RIP) – went with the obvious choices of Daenerys Targaryen (RIP) or the Night King (RIP), Christie put her money on someone “out of left field” to take the Iron Throne.

“They seem like the obvious choice and what we know about the show is that it constantly surprises you so I’m wondering if it might be Bran,” she said.

“Well, just because we keep seeing the world from his perspective,” she explained. “We keep seeing the visions so is he the future projecting…”

Neither Lopez or Colster-Waldau seemed very taken by Christie’s prediction, the latter (really batting for a number of fans here) said: “No, it doesn’t make sense.”

Little did he know…

All hail Gwendoline Christie.

As for some other GoT finale related news, HBO programming president Casey Bloys recently told Deadline that the Arya Stark sail-to-the-west-of-Westeros spin-off isn’t happening. In fact, no direct spin-offs have been planned as HBO are keen to explore other areas in George R.R. Martin‘s massive universe.

“[It] just feels like the right thing to do, let the show [GoT] stand on its own,” he said.
