Once you’ve conquered the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros as the freakin’ Mother of Dragons (actual result pending re: upcoming final season of GoT) the next logical franchise to conquer is of course Star Wars.

Which is why we find ourselves hashtag fucking blessed to have Emilia “Khaleesi” Clarke front and centre in this year’s Star Wars flick, the Han Solo origin yarn ingeniously titled Solo.

Clarke is set to portray brand spanking new character Qi’ra in the movie dropping this May, and even though a full trailer dropped earlier this week we still know fuck all about whomst’ve the hell she is.

Thanks to a new interview with Entertainment Weekly however, we’ve finally got some fresh goss on Han’s newest (or oldest I guess???) sidekick and what her whole deal is.

Clarke starts off by filling us in on how Qi’ra and Han know eachother:

Well, they grew up as comrades, essentially. They grew up as pals, as partners in crime. There is obviously the romantic side of things. But they grew up together. So they were kids together.

INNERESTIN.

When we first meet Qi’ra, she’s already shacked up with Han cruising around the galaxies:

The point where you meet her, she is with Han. They are both doing what they’ve got to do to survive. And that is Qi’ra the whole the movie. The whole way through, she is surviving. And surviving in the underworld that we know to be [filled with] smuggling, aloof gamblers, wrong-side-of-the-tracks nasty ones.

Sounding almost simply like a female counterpart to the charming rogue that is Han Solo, Clarke does drop some hints that all is not what it seems with Qi’ra, pointing out that as she isn’t present in the “future” exploits of Han that something obvs goes down ($20 says she gets super murdered):

Something must happened to affect him as a person, but for us fans not to know about her. Twists happen, and there is this great idea of trust — and who do you trust and how do you trust? And which side of the tracks are either character from — or going to?

Folks, it’s all so very mysterious isn’t it!

Anyway, we’re extremely keen for some Qi’ra action if only to cop these sweet, space threads she gets to rock:

Yasssssss.
