XO: ‘Gossip Girl’ Is Finally Copping A Reboot And We’re Upper East Hyped

Gossip Girl is being rebooted for HBO’s new streaming service Max, giving a new generation of audiences the opportunity to find out it was fucking Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) all along.

E! News reports the new series will pick up a cool eight years after the original Gossip Girl site went down, meaning New York City’s most privileged dipshits will have to find new ways to cyber-bully their ‘friends’.

The series is currently capped at a ten-episode order, but it has the backing of the folks who powered the original series through six backstabbing seasons. OG showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are on deck, and will be joined by executive producer Joshua Safran.

Less clear is whether any of the original Gossip Girl alumni will make an appearance, but we can safely assume Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) would make a A+ toolie.

The reboot, which has been discussed for quite some time, is expected to arrive with HBO Max in the first few months of 2020.
