Millie Bobby Brown Stars In The 1st Trailer For ‘Godzilla’ But Not As Godzilla

While everyone has their eyes on Marvel and their extremely effective efforts at creating a cinematic universe, Legendary Entertainment has been slowly but surely building up its MonsterVerse – a series of films based around a hodgepodge of largely Japanese big monster movies. We got Godzilla, then Kong: Skull Island, and now we’re getting Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

The first trailer – starring none other than Millie Bobby Brown – doesn’t even feature the big lizard himself,. Instead, it has Brown’s character Madison frantically attempting to contact an organisation or entity named Monarch.

Check it out:

If you’ve seen the other two movies, you’ll know that Monarch is the shadowy extra-governmental organisation which seeks to track and police the movements of the gigantic ancient monsters which happen to exist on Earth. They’re basically the thread which ties everything together in the MonsterVerse.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is scheduled to land in cinemas on May 31st next year. Then, in 2020, we’ll get Godzilla vs. Kong, the plot of which seems pretty damn clear from the title. One thing’s for sure: if you like your big monster / kaiju movies, Legendary has you sorted for a while.
