For those of you who were too chicken shit to see the movie when it was in the cinemas, the synopsis goes like this:

A young African-American visits his white girlfriend’s parents for the weekend, where his simmering uneasiness about their reception of him eventually reaches a boiling point.

The star-studded cast includes award-winning Black Panther actor Daniel Kaluuya, Girls’ Allison Williams, Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Bradley Whitford, Kidding star Catherine Keener and more.

The film was praised for its horror storytelling mixed with important social themes including the lack of attention on missing black Americans compared to missing white females.

It has an approval rating of 98% based on 338 reviews, and an average rating of 8.3/10. The film held a 100% approval rating after the first 139 reviews on the site were registered which is damn brill.

Deadline Hollywood calculated the net profit of the film to be $124.8 million, when factoring together all expenses and revenues, making it the 10th most profitable release of 2017.
