A ‘Game Of Thrones’ Actor Passed Out Filming The Gruelling Final Season

You are well within your rights to tune out on news from the Game Of Thrones set before the final season’s premiere, given the sheer quantity of reports promising the biggest, bloodiest, gnarliest season of television ever produced.

That said, the latest Entertainment Weekly exclusive makes it sound extra big, bloody, and gnarly.

Discussing the show’s ultimate battle between the living and the dead, which necessitated eleven weeks of shooting in frigid nighttime conditions, Arya Stark actor Maisie Williams said “nothing can prepare you for how physically draining it is. “

“It’s night after night, and again and again, and it just doesn’t stop.

“You can’t get sick, and you have to look out for yourself because there’s so much to do that nobody else can do… there are moments you’re just broken as a human and just want to cry.”

Take a moment to contemplate that cooked situation, and how it’s technically Williams’ first-ever Game Of Thrones battle sequence. Madness.

Iain Glen, of Jorah Mormont fame, had a similar take: it turns out that operating on a disgusting nighttime schedule can really do a number on your life.

“You get to sleep at seven in the morning and when you wake in the midday you’re still so spent you can’t really do anything, and then you’re back,” Glen said.

“You have no life outside it. You have an absolute fucked bunch of actors.”

In a different scene – one which didn’t even involve swinging swords around and fighting undead hordes – Entertainment Weekly observed an unidentified female cast member pass out on set. They were okay and returned the next day, but the intel doesn’t do much to dispel the notion the final season was bloody rough.
