Petition For Arya Stark’s ‘Getaway’ Style Spin-Off Show, Please And Thank You

Game Of Thrones Arya

Ever since the first episode of Game of Thrones aired in 2011, I’ve been a hopeless Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) fanatic. Something about the feisty little kid who didn’t quite fit in, who was separated from her favourite family member Jon Snow (Kit Harington), who had to chuck rocks at her wolf Nymeria to save her life, just struck a chord in my heart. I always wanted Arya to survive, thrive and kill every fucker on her list.

While she didn’t quite achieve all her kills, she did manage to completely save the day by stabbing the Night King during the Battle of Winterfell. She also got her leg over with Gendry (Joe Dempsie) and totally owned that whole situation too. All in all, a great season for her. Importantly, she also managed to not die, which can’t actually be said for a lot of people in this show. I’m so glad she survived, I always said if she carked it I’d stop watching to make some kind of point (but I really didn’t want to stop watching).

In the big finale episode, she doesn’t do a whole lot aside from really laying it on with Jon that his insane girlfriend is insane (and he ended up stabbing Daenerys), then sitting at that council thing and threatening to kill Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan), then she decided her work in Westeros was done and told Jon she’d be travelling the high seas, exploring the area West of Westeros which wasn’t on any maps.

Of course, as soon as she mentioned this whole other world my ears pricked up as I immediately thought: SPIN-OFF. And it turns out I’m not the only Game Of Thrones fan who wants Arya to host her own cooked version of Getaway.

Fans took to Twitter to beg HBO to make it bloody happen, so let’s hope they are listening:

While HBO have only so far discussed Game Of Thrones prequels, not adventure-themed sequels and Maisie Williams is probably sick to death of the name Arya Stark, this show would be really great and if I had a spare few hundred million I’d bankroll it myself. Should we call Netflix maybe?
