Gal Gadot Confirms That Brett Ratner Is Off The ‘Wonder Woman’ Sequel

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has confirmed that director and producer Brett Ratner will not be returning to the sequel, and I think we can pretty much all agree that that’s great news all round.

The director has been accused of sexual assault or misconduct by no less than six women.

Following those allegations, it was reported by Page Six that Gadot would refuse to go ahead with the Wonder Woman sequel if Ratner’s name was still attached.

She addressed the issue on the Today show in the US (you know, not to be confused with the Today show in Australia), telling the network that the situation had resolved itself before the Page Six report came out.

“At the end of the day, a lot has been written about my views and the way that I feel, everyone knows how I feel. I’m not hiding anything.

“The truth is, there’s so many people involved in making this movie – it’s not just me – and they all echoed the same sentiments.

“So everyone knows what was the right thing to do, but there was nothing for me to actually come and say because it was already done before this article came out.”

It was never all that likely Ratner was going to be back for Wonder Woman 2 anyway, tbh – Warner Bros had cut ties with Ratner as soon as the reports came out, a move he later tried to reframe as being his decision.

“In light of the allegations being made, I am choosing to personally step away from all Warner Bros.-related activities,” he said in the statement. “I don’t want to have any possible negative impact to the studio until these personal issues are resolved.”

Then again, for all we know, he’d distanced himself after Gadot made her views clear, and she’s still the hero we all need in this kind of tale.
