Podcast fans, it’s bloody Christmas. Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson‘s seriously goddamn excellent Two Dope Queens is finally getting the broadcast recognition/thumping great big pile of money it’s rightfully deserved for eons.
Williams and Robinson’s hugely popular comedy podcast has been picked up by HBO for a series of hour-long specials that will arrive on the US cable TV giant at some point in the near future.
Though the podcast itself has historically been audio only (y’know, as most podcasts tend to be) the four episode run will thrust the pair onto the screen as the poddy goes visual for the first time.
That’s not to say that either of the duo are strangers to TV; those of you with eyes will be acutely aware of that. Williams was a shining light on The Daily Show during Jon Stewart‘s farewell tour, and has also appeared on Girls and in the critically acclaimed film The Incredible Jessica James. Robinson, meanwhile, has had stints appearing on shows like Broad City and The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore.

In a press release, Williams reacted to the announcement with giddy excitement, exclaiming her keenness to join the network that’s home to Westeros.

Robinson, on the other hand, proudly announced the safe and happy arrival of their impending comedy baby.

The podcast, which launched in 2016, sees Williams and Robinson joined by friends and comedians to talk race, sex, romance, living in New York and… y’know… Billy Joel.
