It Looks Like A Freaky Demon Cameo’d In ‘Friends’ And Nobody Noticed Until Now

friends

If you had to describe Friends to someone who had never seen or heard of the show, you would likely reach for terms like ‘sarcastic’, ‘nostalgic’ and ‘utterly relatable’. From the gloriously ’90s fashion to Chandler’s dry wit, watching this show now is basically one big throwback hug.

But one term that definitely wouldn’t spring to mind when summarising the iconic show is ‘scary’, right?

Well, it seems that might be something we’ll have to reconsider after eagle-eyed Reddit fans discovered a spooky detail, previously unnoticed, in ‘The One With Rachel’s New Dress’.

For those who would welcome a little refresher on what happened in this ep, it’s near the end of season four when Rachel’s working at Bloomingdale’s and dating that guy called Joshua (who’s super afraid of farm birds).

Remember him?

In this ep, Rachel was planning a romantic date for the pair at her place, but they had to leave Chandler and Joey’s because of their pet duck and rooster. Keen to salvage the night, Joshua suggests they move to his parents’ place, as they’re out of town.

It’s not long before Rachel then slips into her sexy negligee and starts figuring out the most ~alluring~ pose on the couch when his ‘rents come back early.

Basically, the whole thing is super awks and anyone who’s been walked in on by parents before can relate to just how painful this is.

Now, did you see anything scary? Well, you just weren’t looking hard enough.

Rewind the clip to the 1:30 mark and BOOM! There’s the freaky deaky demon situation going on, where this bust:

Sweet baby Jesus whaddaya call that??

The thing that makes this whole detail even creepier is that it was never even mentioned in the show, so the only two explanations I can think of are:

  1. A crew member thought it’d be funny to sneak in a spooky detail that nobody notices
  2. The Friends set was possessed with actual demons.

The first, I’m kinda okay with, while the second would haunt me for the rest of my days. What do you think?
