‘Flight Of The Conchords’ Is Coming Back To TV For One Night This October

It’s been a long nine years since Flight Of The Conchords wrapped up its final season on HBO, and while Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement have both gone on to do other excellent and acclaimed things, nothing can quite replace the magic.

If you’re pining for a little more, then today’s your lucky day, because the network just announced that New Zealand‘s fourth-most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo will return this October for a one-night-only TV engagement.

Flight of the Conchords: Live at the London Apollo is an hour-long special filmed during the duo’s recent tour of the U.K. It features Bret and Jermaine performing alongside the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra – aka a guy with a cello – and is set to air October 6.

There’s a brief teaser below to whet your appetite, and honestly, we could not be more excited at this point:

Since the success of Conchords, Jermaine Clement has gone on to write and star in Taika Waititi‘s beloved horror comedy What We Do In The Shadows, and currently features on the FX series Legion

Bret McKenzie won an Academy Award for his original song ‘Man Or Muppet‘, featured in the 2011 Muppets movie, and also played a small role in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
