RuPaul loves to make queens lip sync for their lives, but in a new twist on that well-loved segment, he and Ellen DeGeneres made a pair of audience members lip sync for their wives, in a highly-perilous contest that saw their spouses dangling above the stage on wires.
The RuPaul’s Drag Race host stopped by Ellen after being honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, and spoke about that momentous event, as well as the future of the show, and who he would like to come joint he judges panel in future seasons.
“I feel like I’m being knighted,” Ru said of receiving his star. “It is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me. I’ve done a lot of great things, a lot of great things have happened to me, but this is the most exciting of all.”
He also said that he would like to have Ellen herself come and be a judge on the show, as well as his idol, Judge Judy. Then of course, there was the bit where the hapless husbands were forced to lip sync for their spouses, and they actually did … pretty well!
It would not be going out on a limb to say that these two turned it out with more charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent than a number of queens who have actually appeared on Drag Race. You can watch their performance below:
